Brunch Classics: A Culinary Adventure at Haverford's Create-a-Cook

Welcome to Brunch Classics, where breakfast favorites transform into delightful creations for any occasion. This week, our 12 junior chefs at Create-a-Cook's Haverford Campus delved into the world of brunch under the expert guidance of Chef Carisa. From frittatas to quiches, and mastering the art of waffles, our young chefs have refined their culinary techniques while exploring the harmonious interplay of flavors that make brunch memorable.



Monday: Ricotta Frittata and Mini Chocolate Chip Scones


We kicked off the week with a classic Ricotta Frittata. The junior chefs learned the secrets to achieving the perfect texture and flavor balance in this versatile dish. Alongside, they crafted Mini Chocolate Chip Scones, a delightful treat that paired beautifully with the frittata.


Tuesday: Classic Berry Waffles and Breakfast Tostada


Tuesday brought the joy of Classic Berry Waffles. Our young chefs mastered the art of making light and fluffy waffles, topped with a medley of fresh berries. The Breakfast Tostada introduced them to a savory twist, combining crispy tortillas with hearty breakfast ingredients.


Wednesday: Fruit Tart


Midweek, our chefs created a stunning Fruit Tart. They explored the delicate process of making a perfect tart crust and arranging vibrant, fresh fruits in an eye-catching and delicious pattern. This dish showcased their creativity and attention to detail.


Thursday: Quiche Lorraine, Breakfast Potatoes, and Coffee Cake


Thursday was all about variety. The classic Quiche Lorraine, with its rich custard filling and savory bacon, was a highlight. Our chefs also prepared Breakfast Potatoes, crispy and seasoned to perfection. To top it off, they baked a moist and flavorful Coffee Cake, perfect for any brunch table.


Friday: Breakfast Puffs, Banana Bread Muffins, and Cereal Milk Ice Cream


We wrapped up the week with an array of delightful treats. Breakfast Puffs offered a light and airy start, while Banana Bread Muffins provided a comforting, homestyle touch. The highlight of the day was the Cereal Milk Ice Cream, crafted in the Ninja Creami. This innovative dessert captured the nostalgic flavors of cereal milk, adding a fun and modern twist to the brunch menu.
